visions

As Mordyval enters his cavern he feels his whole body ack, his muscles, bones, skin, even his inner self has been growing more painful by the day. Why is this happening he wonders, have I been poisoned, contracted some unknown decease possibly? He sits in the center of the cavern and lights a small fire, not to give him light or warmth but to gaze apon and enter a deep deep meditation. I shall find the answers to my pains no matter how long it shall take, he mumbles to himself. Mordyval empties his mind of all thought except for the flame he has lit before him, starring deeper and deeper into its dancing ever changing glow. Hours pass by without any movement from Mordyval, surly one would have thought him to be some strange statue there if they would happen upon him.
As Mordyval stares into the fire he begins to see the visions he was seeking. Slowly and maniacally a tall bulky figure appears out of the shadows. Its form is wrapped in a heavy gray cloud making its features shift in a confusing mass, as if some sculpture of clay cant decide as what to create. This clouded figure all of a sudden reaches into Mordyvals chest and pulls out three glowing balls, one white, one gray, and one black.
The white ball seems to glow more brightly then the rest and as the figure shows this one to Mordyval the pain within him becomes so great he can only scream within his mind. The Glow from it subsides and as it becomes dull the figure shoves it back into Mordyvals chest. The gray ball is the next shown to Mordyval yet it does not seem to have any effect on him. he just stares at it for a short wile until it too is thrust back into his chest.
The black ball is now shown and Mordyval all of a sudden feels giddy with pleasure then sad, as if he had found something very close to him that was lost, then lost it again. As the glow from this ball fads the figure laughs intensely then places it into Mordyvals hand. I do not understand Mordyval says in a questionable manner. This gray figure turns and just before vanishing into the shadows all that could be heard is a Shhhhhhh, then laughter again. His vision complete and its toll on Mordyval great, he curls up where he sat and slept, hopping that when he wakes the meaning of his vision would become clear.

Penned by my hand on the 19th of Sarapin, in the year 197 AF.
