Henceforth is the record of the Divine wedding of the Lord Aegis and the
Lady Eris, which occured on the 24th of Glacian, 296 years after the
Fall of the Secularian Empire. Well over one-hundred attended this
glorious occasion, mortal and Immortal alike. The Logos officiated the
wedding, granting His permission for the Two to wed. Many events occured
within the wedding. Unlucky for him, Fitz, thinking the event was one
huge Free-For-All, spammed the attendants with Occultic entities, and
was promptly immersed in the blue lightning of Aegis for being
excessively disruptive with them. At the arrival of the Goddess Eris,
the room fell into an expectant silence, and the ceremony shortly
thereafter began. Mortals and Divinities looked on as Aegis and Eris
exchanged heartfelt vows of eternal faithfulness and love, and endless
devotion to one another.
You see Aegis, God of War shout, "Sarapis? Will you come?"
You hear a loud "WHAT IS IT??!!" echo through the land.
You see Aegis, God of War shout, "Sarapis, it is My intention to marry
the
ascended being Eris. As is the tradition with such ceremonies, we will
need
someone to officiate. I would like to ask Your official permission to do
this
deed, and secondly, for you to perform the ceremony. Are you willing?"
All reality shudders as the voice of Sarapis, the Logos thunders across
the
land, "And what do you offer me in return for the hand of My daughter?"
Aegis raises His fists above His head. Concentrating briefly, He causes
rippling blue fire to flow from the heavens above into a ball of energy
between His upraised fists. Scornfully, He throws His fists forward,
sending a beam of crackling energy to incinerate Fitz.
You hear a high-pitched screaming noise and instantly, a bolt of blue,
crackling energy strikes Fitz. His body arches as his mouth opens in a
noiseless scream. Blue fire erupts out of his eye sockets and mouth and
his
charred body crumples to the ground.
Fitz has been slain by Aegis.
Fitz leaves to the ether.
Gaia, Goddess of Nature says, "Ladies and Gentlemen, if you will all
banish
your ents now."
Gaia, Goddess of Nature says, "Or that, that's fine."
Gaia nods Her head at herself.
You see Aegis, God of War shout, "What does the Logos want that the God
of War can provide?"
All reality shudders as the voice of Sarapis, the Logos thunders across
the
land, "Hmm. That is a fair point. Omnipotence has its fringe benefits in
the
forms of all desires being satisfied, and so on."
A rift in space opens and Sarapis, the Logos steps through, grey robes
flowing.
You see Aegis, God of War shout, "You already have My eternal fealty.
Will that suffice?"
Sarapis, the Logos says, "For the love of Me. It's quite crowded in
here."
Comprehension flashes across Aegis's face.
Gaia grins mischievously at Sarapis.
Aegis, God of War says, "Eris where are you?"
Aegis, God of War says, "Sarapis, will you bring Eris to the ceremony
then?"
Sarapis, the Logos says, "Alright."
Sarapis wraps Himself in His flowing grey robes, and is gone.
Eris appears in the area but is suddenly removed by an unseen force.
A rift in space opens and Sarapis, the Logos steps through, grey robes
flowing.
Aegis grins mischievously at Sarapis.
A violent thrumming fills the air as motes of rainbow colours swirl all
around you, finally coalescing into Eris, Goddess of Chaos.
Aegis flashes Eris a joyous smile.
Sarapis, the Logos says, "She is here."
"Good!" Aegis enthuses.
She is a radiant Immortal and is a vivid dream of a splendid woman whose
eyes
are as soft as feathers and as deep as eternity itself, and whose body
is the
spectacular dance of atoms and universes. Pyrotechnics of pure energy
form her flowing hair, and rainbows manifest and dissolve when she
speaks in a warm and gentle voice. She is wearing high-heeled shoes made
of crystal that sparkle with an internal light, a gown of liquid
rainbows made from the fabric of Chaos, and a veil of sparkling stars.
He is a radiant Immortal and is quite easy to see from nearly any
position on a battlefield. He is a titanic 10 feet tall and wears a
magnificent silver plated armour engraved with intricate, even miniscule
patterns of red enamel that catch the sun. The patterns are nearly
hypnotic in nature, for as one looks on, each swirling pattern consists
of smaller details defining more details the closer you look, until the
smallest details disappear in a haze of obscurity. Aegis wields the
ancient flaming warsword "Warp Witch of Aegis," which is also shown on
His holy symbol. He bears no facial hair, and is a beautiful god to
behold, His face radiating confidence and steadfast determination.
Adding to the fierceness of his air is a glimpse of the edges of a
rather large ornamental tattoo on his neck and collar area, which
obviously continue under His garments and armour to cover a large
portion of His torso. His build is much that of a barrel chested
mountain troll with broad shoulders and a wide neck. He is wearing the
Diadem of Deimus, a flowing fir lined cape of deepest crimson, a Sash of
Wisdom, the Boots of Phobus, the Warriors Wings of Aegis, a pair of
large spiked metal gauntlets covered in red enamel, and a holy symbol
medalion fastened squarely to His breastplate.
Sarapis, the Logos says, "Eris, the God of War has expressed His intent
to
marry You."
Aegis, God of War whispers to Eris, "Good to see you again".
Sarapis, the Logos says, "Do you posseses a similar intent?"
Sarapis, the Logos says, "Possess, in fact."
Eris, Goddess of Chaos says, "I do indeed."
Rainbows cascade and ripple over Eris, Goddess of Chaos, as she walks
towards
Aegis, God of War, and takes his hand.
Sarapis, the Logos says, "And you have considered what this means? The
union of Chaos and War?"
Eris, Goddess of Chaos says, "Yes, Logos."
Sarapis, the Logos says, "I see. Then I grant permission."
Aegis nods His head at Sarapis.
Sarapis, the Logos says, "Aegis, do you have a vow to give to Eris? A
pledge of loyalty perhaps?"
Aegis, God of War looks expectantly at Sarapis.
Aegis, God of War says, "I do Lord."
Sarapis, the Logos says, "Then speak it."
Aegis nods His head emphatically.
Aegis, God of War turns to face Eris.
Aegis, God of War says, "Eris..."
Aegis, God of War says, "I pledge upon My sword, that I will honour this
alliance of all alliances, this bond of bonds, until I no longer have
Achaea to walk upon, and the Garden is no more. My strength will be your
strength Eris, and My glory will be your glory."
Aegis, God of War says, "Though we be of two minds, I vow that it is
never My
wish to be at cross purposes with you, nor will I raise My hand against
you, or yours. You are My bride, My staunchest ally, My counterpart, and
opposing
force. I will walk from glory to glory, proudly, with you at My side."
Aegis flashes Eris a joyous smile.
Eris flashes Aegis a joyous smile.
Sarapis, the Logos says, "Excellent."
Sarapis, the Logos says, "And you, Goddess of Chaos?"
Sarapis, the Logos says, "Have you vows?"
Eris, Goddess of Chaos says, "I do, Logos."
Eris, Goddess of Chaos says, "Let none here be deceived into thinking
that a
marriage to Chaos is ephemeral or weak. Chaos represents evolution,
change and creativity, and this bond of War and Chaos shall evolve and
grow stronger and stronger as the aeons progress, until Achaea, when
seeing War in the land, shall say Chaos must be near at hand. Likewise,
the time will come that when Achaea sees Chaos in the realm, they shall
say War must surely follow."
Eris, Goddess of Chaos says to Aegis, "Together, let the realms of War
and
Chaos be united in purpose and strength. Alone, We are each formidable.
Side by side, We are awe inspiring. But bonded in love and marriage, We
shall be
greater than the sum, stronger than the foundations, mightier than the
ages!"
Aegis nods His head emphatically.
Eris, Goddess of Chaos says to Aegis, "I bring to you, My Love, the
wonder of
Chaos: freedom and creativity and constant change. You shall never be
saddened by Me nor disappointed with Me and, above all, You shall never,
ever be bored with Me."
Eris flashes Aegis a joyous smile.
Aegis grins and nods.
Aegis, God of War says, "I am sure."
Aegis winks conspiratorially at Eris.
Sarapis, the Logos says, "Aegis, the unpredictability of Achaea, and
indeed of chaos itself, has brought you his bride."
Aegis tilts His head and listens intently to Sarapis.
Sarapis, the Logos says, "And Eris, the struggles and conflicts of
Achaea and
of war have brought you this husband."
Sarapis, the Logos says, "It is right, and it is good."
Pentharian coughs softly.
Sarapis, the Logos says, "Upon being wed, you will be the first Gods to
formally wed, in the history of Creation."
Sarapis, the Logos says, "It is a momentus occasion."
Sarapis, the Logos says, "And one which, I suspect, will have
far-reaching
consequences."
Aegis smirks.
The corners of Eris's mouth turn up as She grins mischievously.
Sarapis, the Logos says, "All of you, God and mortal, mark this hour."
Sarapis, the Logos says, "For in it perhaps a new force will be born. A
new
direction for power to flow."
Sarapis, the Logos says, "Eris, Goddess of Chaos, I now pronounce you
wed in
the sight of the Logos to you, Aegis, the God of War."
Aegis beams broadly.
Eris removes a veil of sparkling stars.
Aegis, God of War says, "May I?"
Aegis grins mischievously at Sarapis.
Sarapis, the Logos says, "Yes, you may."
His tongue dancing gracefully, Aegis kisses Eris with melting passion.
"Heh heh heh" Aegis chuckles.
The corners of Eris's mouth turn up as She grins mischievously.
Eris snuggles up close to Aegis, looking happy and content.
The skies light with multi-coloured lightning as bells ring across the
land.
You see Sarapis, the Logos shout, "CONGRATULATIONS, AEGIS AND ERIS!"
And so, it came to be that War and Chaos joined hands and hearts in a
Union that will never be surpassed in perfection. The Logos's shout of
congratulations was met with a unison of cheering throughout the land,
and truly the world in its entirety celebrated the wonderous event.
Following the spectacular wedding, a massive Free-For-All was held
(though Fitz jumped the proverbial crossbow a bit on that one), in which
The Logos, Goddess of Nature, and Lord of Righteousness won by a
landslide. After the Free-For-All, the wedding reception was held in
honor of the Newlyweds, and for the first time in history, mortals were
allowed entrance into the Garden of the Gods for the celebratory event.
Indeed, much history was made on this day, with much more to come.
Congratulations to the Lord of War and His Chaotic Bride!
