Honour

Recent posts have questioned the idea of Honour. What it means, what
it allows people to do, what it means in accordance with some of the
Guilds.
I will not tell you who I was, or who I am. I will tell you, however,
that I believe in Honour, and do not doubt that many of you believe
in it as well. We try to uphold what we believe in, to uphold our
Honour.
There is a catch to this though, one that few people see.
A wise person once told me that Honour does not have a single
definition. I have thought about this for some time now, and have
come to the conclusion that Honour is a set of beliefs, each set as
different from one another as we, the People of Sapience, are.
Confused? So was I. Let us take the Infernals as an example. Many of
you have questioned their ideas of Honour. They kill the weak, pike
their heads, and laugh about it. What Honour is there in this?
The Truth is, there is an unbreakable sense of Honour in this, one
that is quite admirable. The Infernals, as many of you know, follow
Lord Sartan. They are Evil to the very core. Their definition of
Honour orders them to Kill, Pike, Laugh about it. They -are-
Honourable, in that they follow their definition of Honour.
Others on Sapience might follow a different definition of Honour.
A popular one is Defend the Weak, Steal from the Rich, Give to the
Poor. Those who follow this belief are Honourable, in their own way.
Yet, another definition of Honour might be to ignore all, fight for
one's own life.
As you can see, their are several definitions of Honour. The
Infernals are not Dishonourable, far from it. They merely follow
-their- sense of Honour, as many of you do. I am not taking the
Infernals' side, nor am I taking the 'Good' side. I am posting this,
in hopes of ending any more disputes on the question of Honour.
One last thing...to the wise man who clarified the definition of
Honour for me...Thank you.
