I, Merik, hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entriely
renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince,
potentate, state or sovereignty, of whom or whick I have heretofore been
a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the great Cannon
and laws of the city- state of Hashan against all enemies, foreign and
doestic; taht I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I
will perform service in the Hashanite Legion when required by law; and
that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or
purpose of evasion; I do swear this before the gods.
I further swear, by the Gods, I will be faithful and true to the
citizens of Hashan, and love all that they love, shun all that they
shun, according to the divine law and according to the worlds
principles, and never by will or by force, by word nor by work, do ought
of what is anathema to the City.
I demeand that, should I break this oath, I should be cast out of the
city. If I am cast out, I ask my fellow citizens to find and slay me ,
that my life may not continue in degredation and infamy.
I recognise that the neemies of Hashan are my enemies, the friends of
Hashan are my friends, and the allies of Hashan are my allies. Let us
work as One and grow hale and strong.
I hereby swear this oath on the 10th of Mayan, 239 years after the fall
of the Selucarian Empire.
Woe to they who try to tempt me to break this oath, woe to me if I
succumb to such temptation.
