Good day to you Zero,
There seems to be a few facts that I, being a young simpleton, am
confused about.
You state that your first three attempts at a sacrificing were foiled by
the victim's friends and allies. Firstly, Walter was magically summoned
and aided by Priests. Secondly, Hawk was saved by her Druid friends.
Thirdly, Aldair fled with her friends when you appeared on the scene.
Hmm....When I was watching you, I could swear I saw you with about 8
others, including Andelas, Amitation, Zero, Razoor, and Yosi......so,
you were aided by others? It was an expression of strength for such a
large group of Sartanites to immobilize a single person yet it was
cowardly for others to come to their aide? Isn't there a word for that?
Oh, incidentally, I know the exact second I let you onto the fact I was
watching....a silly little mistake, it was, but not that it really
matters. And you don't seriously think I was the only one doing so, do
you? Come now, old boy, I thought you'd been a little more alert than
that.
In following of Magnangemon's example, I admit I was the one who
assisted in Walter's magical summoning to safety. And, like him, I will
not stop when my friends are in danger. You seem a little too free with
accusations of cowardice, but, believe me, they have no effect on me. If
you wish to believe we acted in a cowardly manner, that's your concern,
and your mistake.
angel seek for Hawk's rescue, she and the Druids have my respect. It's
truly excellent when a guild can bind together to save a member in
danger, especially from the clutches of such an uneven attack. Well
done!
(Pah! Bad reflexs! That's "as")
And in regards to Aldair, I can't say when she "fled" from you and your
team. I do know however, that her boat fled from yours as Nate rowed her
back to the Aalen forests as you were on your way to Polyargos with
Nolan. Bad luck there, old chap, for you to be traversing the waters at
the same time as she, but in different directions.
The only other time I remember leaving you was at our attack on the
beast of the crypt. Aldair and her friends trekked to the outskirts of
Thera to destroy the beast that was killing citizens of Shallam and
Infernals alike. How could I forget your presence, though? You were
there to loot the treasures that the beast dropped, but not to assist in
the slaying. Hmmm.....And when we left the area, our business being
completed, it was fleeing? Surely you weren't planning on attack us
right after or during our fight with the beast when we were weakened!
Why, that would be dishonourable....but then why was it that we "fled"?
And then your sacrifice of Harro. I must say, congratulations in the
completion of your task. But, here's where I get confused again. An eye
witness, who was at "North of Thera" when the sacrifice occurred,
recalls that Harro actually volunteered. But I thought your expedition
was to hunt, incapacitate, and sacrifice a victim unwilling. Of course,
this witness could be wrong, but suspicions tend to arise when Harro
turned defensive and then disappeared when I was asking if this was
true. This is understandable, though: Who'd want to speak of such a
terrible experience? But then why did you suddenly interject in the
conversation telling me he was in fact, unwilling? You weren't
there....Ahh, I know! You must have incredible powers in telepathy to
hear what we said! Hmm, but it's as if Harro panicked and told you he
was being questioned, because he certainly didn't respond to me after
that.
Our opinions vary greatly (my, wasn't that repeating the obvious), but I
for one see it as a strength when a group of people bond together for a
common cause. You see the rescues of Walter and Hawk as weakness: I see
it as strength. Nothing can demonstrate the bonds of loyalty and love
between people then risking your lives to save them. I hope I've gained
a friend in Walter, if nothing else, and that's much more precious in
the end then anything you could have, or will, throw at me or any of my
friends.
