Do not ever buy a lasallian lyre. Why, you ask? Well, first
of all, let me start off by saying that I've probably used
mine about three times since I got it a long long time ago.
You cannot do hardly anything while the lyre is up, or the
barrier that it provides you will be shattered. This means
you cannot heal while using the lyre. You have to rely
on the natural regeneration of your hitpoints, because you
can't drink health or eat moss. While this does suck a
lot, it gets worse. Major and POWERFUL attacks, such as
hellsight, and other attacks such as erode and ALL of
telepathy go DIRECTLY through the lyre. Also, what happens
if you have a couple of afflictions when you use your lyre?
Well, you're either going to have to rely on a necklace of
purity, or other automatic affliction removers to get rid
of your afflictions, because you can't cure them while
using the lyre. In other words, the lyre is useless in
MOST situations, and is definitely not worth the amount of
credits you have to pay right now to purchase it. You're
much better off using a regular shield tattoo because you
can heal your health and afflictions while it is up. Now
you ask "Well what artifact DO I buy if I shouldn't buy a
lasallian lyre?". Well, I would suggest investing in an
equally priced, or slightly more expensive artifact, such
as buckawn boots. They are very useful, I wish I had a pair.
All the statistic altering artifacts are good too, because
every person can find a use for increasing at least one
stat or another. I'm still iffy on whether the gem of
transmutation is worth it or not (scared of being caught as
a human in a free-for-all). Rings that increase the amount
that a health elixir heals you by are always really good,
and an artifact weapon is a must, if you use weapons. Just
do yourself a favour and buy one of these artifacts instead
of purchasing a lyre. Other artifacts would do you a lot
better in the long run. If you want any more advice, just
send me a tell or a message.
