Ashtan,

Today, you all experienced much death and destruction, such that other
cities have encountered not long ago. The last time, I believe, when I
made the mistake of opening a chest that caused unspeakable damage to
Hashan and her citizens, I was on the opposite side of the river that I
grip tonight. I caused the destruction, despite my wishes, and now I
help you fight against it. I want it to be known: (not for pride or
glory or ego, but for the sake of good and righteousness) I, and many
others from Shallam and about the land, came together with our enemies,
those we despise, and those we work against. All of this to save the
lives of the innocent, and even the lives of those who lack innocence,
from the wrath of One truly evil.

This Order has attacked the very city it was positioned within. It has
ravaged all other landscapes within our realm, and now it has turned to
its own home in a flaming horde of selfishness, greed, and hatred. I,
personally, do not agree with the way you live, Ashtan. I do not agree
with your occultic studies or the sacrifice of orphans for
experimentation. But even more, I do not agree with the wrong that has
befallen one so vulnerable to the Order of Evil.

We stood before your gates tonight, those of us who are enemied and dare
not enter the city, slaying daemons as they made their way out in search
of more blood. Our own died. We sacrificed our lives, without being
asked. And still, one by the name of Janduin, supposedly by the orders
of one within Ashtan, became enemied and even died just to drag us into
Ashtan in hopes of slaying us. I only hope that this will not be
forgotten, Janduin's crime of attempting to prevent Ashtan from
retaliating against the death and destruction that strove to envelop it.
Though, I do not expect this to happen. Anyhow, it did not stop us from
attempting to help the situation.

I am here to help stop the destruction of these fiends, Ashtan, and I
will try my best to do so, long as I am capable. I believe that others
feel the same way. Perhaps this is the first step towards a better life,
for you. I can only pray for such.
