I, Nylar, hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and
entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign
prince,
potentate, state or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been
a
subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Great Canon and
laws of
the city-state of Hashan against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that
I will
bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will fight on behalf
of the
City when required by the law; that I will perform service in the
Hashanite
Legion when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely
without
any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; I do so swear this before
the
Gods.
I further swear, by the Gods, I will be faithful and true to the
citizens of
Hashan, and love all that they love, and shun all that they shun,
according to
Divine law, and according to the world's principles, and never, by will
nor by
force, by word nor by work, do ought of what is anathema to the city.
I demand that, should I break this oath, I should be cast out of the
City. If I
am cast out, I ask my fellow citizens to find and slay me that my life
may not
continue in degradation and infamy.
I recognize that the enemies of Hashan are my enemies, that the friends
of
Hashan are my friends, and that the allies of Hashan are my allies. Let
us work
as one and grow hale and strong.
I hereby swear this oath on 18th of Sarapin, 290 years after the fall of
the Selucarian
Empire. Woe to they who try to tempt me to break this oath, and woe to
me
if I succumb to such temptation.
