Maybe this Varian...thing...isn't actually gone from the Realm. It does
seem to me that most people have some sense of sanity returned to them,
but in the insanity's stead seems to be an unwavering epidemic of utter
stupidity.
Now, I've spent most of my life studying many forms of ailments and
afflictions. As an Occultist, it's not only my profession, but a rather
favored hobby. I've taken great pride in my achievements in many of
my experiments. With my expertise and experience in such fields, I took
it upon myself to study this seemingly persistant plague of obtuse
thinking.
Now, let me begin by naming the most public displays that have been
shown
to all of us in recent months, and maybe a few of you may begin to
understand just how severe this ailment seems to be. I will then follow
up with a list of symptoms, so you all may perform a self-diagnosis and
determine if you too, have become afflicted.
As we all know, this Varian being took control of many of our minds and
caused us to act in rather obscene ways. Now, as your reading continues
to venture through this writing, keep in mind the powers that being had
over our minds, and this will make much more sense.
Let me begin with those destructive chests that have caused such an
upsetting turn of events on the Realm. Now, these chests were clearly
marked as being dangerous. Much like a medicine bottle with three 'X's
upon it. Any child know not to drink from that bottle, because it's
probably poison. Simple logic, yes? Well, I thought so too, but it
appears that such lateral thinking has been taken from many in our
midst.
Even with such dire warnings written upon the first chest, it was
opened.
And...surprise, surprise, big boom, lotsa fireworks, something gets
annihilated. That was the first instance I saw. I suppose it COULD
be written down as ignorance...though that's not a very believable
excuse.
Second case: The Second Chest
We all watched as Chest1 obliterated the Church, causing havoc and
destruction. Yet, when a second chest fell, many felt the need to rush
and open it too! This chest contained an ever larger warning.
Obviously then, this chest contained an even more destructive force.
Now, this process of thought (the want to open a chest like this) could
indeed be compared to the intelligence of picking up and petting a
suicide mouse. None to bright, indeed.
I refuse to believe that there could be any sentient being with such
a lacking natural intelligence, even for a Troll, these instances
were profoundly ignorant. Hence, why I came to the conclusion of an
epidemic, or perhaps even a series of different epidemics.
I will continue to be ever vigilant towards finding a cure, or any
kind of treatment for the poor souls who's minds must have been
tainted. Please, if any of you find yourself with any of the following
symptoms, report to me immediately. If I haven't figured out a way
to cure you yet, I'm sure we can figure out something to help you
from harming yourself or others:
The sudden urge to try and make love to Belladona, or any other
aggressive being.
And irresistable urge to find out just what those Buckawns do with
the corpses of the Dryad's.
Wonder just how long it takes for the Dragon to kill you.
Feel the need to run around naked through the forests (no, that is NOT
natural, sorry)
Or summon forth wanton destruction upon the realms, killing dozens
of people, and destroying homes and entire cities alike.
These are just a few of the symptoms I've been able to discover right
now. I'll work through the nights to find others, and keep you all
posted.
