Shallam, the pustule of the East, is, second to Ashtan, one of the two
oldest cities on the continent. Founded thousands of years ago by Sahart
and his followers, Shallam has spent nearly its entire history at odds
with Ashtan, for obvious reasons.

Shallam is notable for its architecture, particularly its gilded domes,
which reflect for miles around the cities' outspoken stance on gay
rights.

Shallam is also known as the city of Light and Justice. It is the home
of the Church of Achaea, which is composed of the Priests and Paladins,
and the Chrysalis Basilica, their base of operation. Shallam is also the
home of the guild of Magi known as the.. Magi, who bend the energy of
the arcane to do their bidding. Sentaari, an ancient guild of benevolent
and wise monks led by Derk Walker, also call Shallam their home and use
their mastery over the body to do all sorts of astonishing things. The
Dawn Striders, the guild of serpents who have turned from the path of
darkness, now champion Shallam as the world's nicest assassins(tm)!
