Oakstone

On behalf of the Council of Oakstone, I wish to declare our formal
rejection of Sartan's terms of peace. It has never been the policy of
the Council to allow atrocities against Nature to go unpunished. The
usual function of Oakstone is to insure that those who are given the
gifts of Gaia use them in a responsible fashion, and we take exceptional
pride in the compassion our fellows have shown for Nature, and their
understanding of the few restrictions we must place to upon them to see
that our charge is safe and protected for the benefit of all Sapience.

However, this is a time of war. Sartan has seen fit to plague the lands
by His own hand and through mortals who serve Him. Despite our
precautions, despite our care and efforts, vast regions of the
wilderness have been burned or exterminated. With great effort we have
kept the forests intact, though the plantlife steadily dwindles and
certain plants are extinct as, I would hope, the populace of Achaea has
noticed.

In order to restore the wilderness, Oakstone requires the following. All
enemies of Oakstone must pay in full their fines and serve their
sentence in full, or to such a degree that the Council is satisfied.
Oakstone requires that Sartan and any official or unofficial allies
announce an end to the hostilities and vow that such an occurance will
not happen again by their hands. Once this condition is met, Oakstone
further requires that the plantlife of Achaea be given sufficient time,
unmolested, to grow to its former splendor.

In light of this, and by the command of Gaia and Oakstone, there shall
henceforth be a total ban on all harvesting and sales of herbs and
elixirs. Any Sentinels, Druids, or rogues of either class should bring
their concerns regarding this to the Council. Since this command
requires nothing of the rest of Achaea, we expect to hear no complaints.
Anyone found to harvest any plant, to be selling any herb or elixir
whether in person or in a shop to someone outside their guild, shall be
enemied by the forests. An exchange of resources between us and our
allies shall be arranged at our convenience.

In addition, all members of opposing forces in this war shall be granted
enemy status within the forests for the duration of the war. Any further
acts of aggression towards the forest by our enemies will, as always, be
considered in our future willingness to forgive.

Oakstone wishes to formally thank Shallam, the Church, and the Devout
for their official support in this war. Oakstone will gladly embrace
other allies who are similarly willing to accept our enemies as their
own.

Perseon, Heirophant of Oakstone

Penned by my hand on the 21st of Mayan, in the year 281 AF.
