the sad state of my mission

Hello, dearest priests, dear serpentlords, and all my achaean friends. I write this with much sadness, guilt, and a very heavy heart, yet with hope that my decision will allow me to realize my mission of compassion, justice, and friendship more completely[D[D[C[C[4~[4~[4~[4~[D[D[D[D[D[D[D[D[D[D[4~[4~[4~[C[C[C[C[C[C[C[C[C[C[D[C than before. In my brief but very special time as a devoted member of the priests guild, I have come to love my fellow priests as special friends, and singularly heroic and compassionate members of Achaean society. I bestow on them all my appreciation and respect for being so motivated and brave in face of a dire conflict and slaughter. We have suffered through many hardships, always together, always supporting each other. We have tried our best to proclaim our mission of compassion, healing, and justice to all Achaeans, regardless of guild.
But for me, I feel that despite my best efforts I have failed. I felt this sense of failure first, when my soul split to join the serpentlords as Sirius. I thought that perhaps time would bring Sirius my servant back to join with me, but I was wrong. Sirius has grown to love and respect her fellow serpents just as much as I am attached to Topaz, Malrond, Amicus, Valois, Valeon, and our Father Odysseus.
Finally, after much agonizing thought, I realized that this could not be for much longer--the division of my soul was oft unbearable, and hurt both of us deeply. Therefore, for the better of both my dear Priests and the great serpentlords, I have chosed to submit myself to my other half, Sirius, who will continue to spread the compassion and justice that I have, but who will hopefully do a better job than I. Sirius will be a friend of all priests, also, and as an independent serpentlord, has long ago chosen to be honest and respectful of the holy guild.
I also beg the continuing trust of my serpentlord friends, who have been honorable and wonderfully kind to me even as a priestess. I am deeply sorry to have let Sirius join your guild incognito, and I hope that you can once again trust Sirius albeit knowing that Silmaril has also joined your guild.
This has not been easy for me to do at all, and I shall miss being a priestess incredibly. Farewell, Achaea! Silmaril bids all of you goodbye. Perhaps she will one day return, but until then--
Sincerely,
Sirius, the Chameleon, formerly Silmaril
