As no one else has posted about this yet, I will. These are the events following public post 7950.
Jerle gathered many people in the temple of peace to try and bring Xianty back. Everyone offered something of important value to them. Being the only Aegean there, I offered two things, an augmented suit of fieldplate armor and... my old rajamala fur blanket. We prayed to our various Gods on behalf of Xianty, and our combined willpower and faith caused the pile of objects to be consumed by divine fire, their essence going to perhaps either Oneiros or even Xianty.
It was not enough however... I Jerle and the others were quite dissapointed, and I pointed out to them how an offered pile of random items was not going to be enough to wrest Xianty's soul away from a God as powerfull as Sartan. Jerle then offered himself to be taken in place of Xianty, and being the pessimistic Aegean that I am I pointed out how if he had been wanted the fiends would have just taken him in the first place.
There were a few questions as to whether or not I wanted Xianty back... to be blunt, I do not. While I have great respect for him, peace is contrary to my religious beliefs and I think that his Xian incarnation is far more productive. All of the shouting drew Sharbrena, a cleric of Darkness' attention. I believe that this part is detailed in 7950... in short, she offered information about Xianty in exchange for the death of either Tranquility or myself. Neither happened, due to the combined fact that killing to try and save a pacifist is quite hypocritical and the small faction that did want to try it knew they would be slaughtered by the Aegeans if they attempted to make the exchange.
Working against bringing Xianty back, I followed Jerle to the Pyramid of Darkness outside of Ashtan and left certain "Agents" of mine as Sharbrena later referred to them (though I am by no means the head of the Order) to listen to their conversation. Though she failed to bring about the death of either Tranquility or myself at that moment at least, we learned that to help bring Xianty back (supposedly) it would be necessary to gather pages from the book of peace, and to reconstruct it. Why was Twilight helping Shallam? I just assumed it was furthering the Darkness' infiltration of the place. Jerle did not mind the source of the assistance, saying that he had no other options.
And so there was a mad search all over sapience for the pages. Though the Order of War managed to aquire two of them, one of which we burried in a very safe place, divine intervention stole them out of our inventory. Aegis was not present to prevent this, and it frustrated us to no end. Jerle was eventually struck down by us, but... he didn't drop the page he was holding, and after that kept looking for the others graced.
Obviously trying to get the pages was an exercise in futility, so instead I let a small band of Aegeans to blockade Twilight's Pyramid to try and keep Jerle out. During this we had a small skirmish with some sorcerers, but for the most part all of Twilight's followers cowered in the safe zone in the center of the pyramid, including Sharbrena. During our blockade, a bolt of blue flame flew down presumably from Twilight, narrowly missing us. Everyone scattered, and after a moments hesitation I went after them. They were afraid, but I said for not the last time that night... "Are we cowardly darksiders, or are we Aegeans? I am going back to that Pyramid, who is with me?" and we all went back.
I was warned many more times by Sharbrena to cease my blockade, or that Twilight would strike me down. I ignored her, and did my best to keep people out. Vexlore smirking, saying I couldn't attack him because we are both Ashtan citizens, and eventually (after I was pestilenced) tumbled past me into the pyramid.
I was ready for such an attack, and was very dug in with allies on hand to help hold me down and heal the pestilence. No sooner had I healed myself when it was done again, and again. I was pestilenced a total of nine times, and some force removed my blockades. Sharbrena darted out of the Pyramid safe zone at one point and killed me while I was vulnerable, stealing my tower shield off of me in the process.
As soon as I was able to, I returned to the temple and reconstructed my blockade. Again I was warned, and bolts of blue flame flew past me, narrowly missing. I shouted, "Do you think we are cowardly darksiders who will obey your every word, hiding and trying to smirk from behind safe zones? We are Aegeans, and you cannot break our will!" Following this one of the blue bolts hit me and I was defeated.
After I was regenerated, I heard that Jerle was no longer working with the Pyramid, so I did not have to martyr myself anymore.
Eventually, Shallam and the Sentinels had gathered all of the pages from the book together. But, not surprisingly to me at least, it has not brought Xianty back. There are many other details to the story, (such as when Andelas was transported to Ulangi while trying to carry on the blockade in my absence), but most are irrelevant to the situation of Xianty. Still though, when I look at Sharbrena and heard what she claims that her goals are, was that she intends to make the Dark Order a powerfull and feared group of warriors. All I saw of them that day and I saw little, was a bunch of spineless losers who would not do anything more than cower from us in the safe zones and watch the events while their God struck us down.
Lastly, I will post in public the vow I made over shouts that day. When I become Archon again, as many people have been asking me to run, then some day I will try for Overseer. If and when that day comes, I will have that Pyramid torn down.
