Dear Aegis,
I have recently learned that "Someone" has defiled your Temple and placed a statue depicting Me defeating you in a most horrible manner. Although the "sculptor" portrays a most accurate representation of the world's affairs, I have no need to proclaim to the masses My innate superiority. With this in mind, have you stopped to think who could be responsible?
Allow Me to relay to you one of the fundamental truths I have learned in My aeons of existence. "The World is a play; We are all either actors, playwrights, spectators or... fools." Now then, I have just proposed two bits of information to you. Do you think that We can draw a logical conclusion as to whether or not I was responsible for all the actions that your words apparently attribute to Me?
I'm of the opinion that We can. Simply ask yourself these simple questions.
Who has the most to gain from defiling your Temple in such a brazen manner? Who feels threatened by your... expanding influence? Who feels threatened by Lord Twilight's almighty influence? Why would "Someone" frame Lord Twilight? Would Lord Twilight frame Himself? What does Lord Twilight stand to gain from framing Himself?
Why did He write to me? Could all my assumptions about Lord Twilight's intent be wrong? Who has the most to gain from war between Lord Twilight and me? Who controls Ashtan? Where am I trying to expand my influence? Who would try to stop me from expanding my influence? Who would try to stop Lord Twilight from expanding His influence?
Who are the actors? Who is the... playwright? Who are the spectators? Who is the... fool?
Of course, I could be wrong. I do not discount that "Someone" simply wants war for the sake of war and My annoying tendency to doubt all that is doubtable in others will have been... well, an annoyance. But then, that "Someone" would be foolish in My estimation... Don't you agree?
Simple questions, really. Find the answers, and I'm sure you will discover whom the culprit in all this is. Good luck in your "investigation."
Yours truly,
Lord Twilight, God of Intrigue
