Venom "laws"

I do not intend to drop my scorn for these so-called "laws", even though I will readily admit I will maintain order till the end of my existance.
So the Shallam Snake Guildmaster admits the "law" is biased towards shop-owning Snakes, and threatens to make dissenters meet Sarapis?
And I thought that Shallam, Jewel of the East, was the City of Harmony, Light, etc. etc.
It is up to the individual Guilds and cities to maintain this foolish over-authoritarian treaty. I fear it is an obvious move towards derailing the entire Achaean macro-economy, and placing the reins of such within the hands of the manufacturers.
A few privileged people, hiding behind the shield of high Guild authority, cannot be allowed to derail the natural progress of trade, industry, learning, etc., of an entire continent.
Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Remember my Master's Seven Truths. Should such wide-ranging concepts fall into the hands of so few, and the multi-formed curse of weakness strike one, there would be chaos and anarchy throughout the realm.
Sometimes, to be lawful is go against harmful laws. Over-legislation is as bad as under-legislation.

In the name of Law, and of Order.

Guiliaume

Penned by my hand on the 22nd of Chronos, in the year 267 AF.
