Who forgot to purge their aconite? The venom treatise isnt an attempt to price-fix venoms, its an attempt to make it silly for people to buy from shops because shops are too expensive, and hence make people buy directly from snakes.
As has been said, its an obstruction to free trade, an attempt to gain a monopoly, and a whole lot of other things. Socialism, even.
Shrug. I personally like it, cos I can still buy venoms at normal prices, direct from snakes, and I can also get those venomsthat were once illegal.

I do wish people would shut up about the forging pricelist though - in the 20-30 min it takes for a knight to forge chainmail, I could harvest more profit than they make if they sell it for 4-5k... so higher prices from them are only fair.
