As Overseer of Ashtan, I wish to clarify a few things. For some reasons, many see it solely as a hostile takeover of Ashtan's good old neighbour, Thera. This is not so. A number of incidents have occurred, based upon which Ashtan has decided to take appropriate action, so peace and prosperity may be ensured in the city of Ashtan and its vicinity.

To every story, there are many sides, and now I shall reveal to you all a most interesting side to this whole tale about Thera becoming the Sovereign State of Ashtan.

Not long before my 100th birthday, news travelled to me that a war was brewing. I tried to validate the rumors with different sources, but nothing substantial came out of it. In the midst of those rumors of war, I was starting to get reports about the unrest in Thera.

In the past, Thera was a peaceful village, for which Ashtan would always leave Thera alone to its own government and people, trusting that the Therans would never in any way form a threat to Ashtan. However, I was gravely concerned when I started to get reports about certain Therans conspiring with other organizations against the city of Ashtan. Piecing it together with the rumors of war, I decided to send Mordyval into Thera to investigate the matter further.

To our dismay, we found out that the Theran Mayor had become so corrupted and power-hungry that she would conspire with Ashtan's enemies, without regard for the true wish of her people for peace. Dissidents were fed to the beast and other peace-loving Therans were forced to keep on with life as usual, like nothing had ever changed.

Hence, Mordyval took the matter into his hands and had the Mayor removed with swift efficiency, just in time for my 100th birthday. Meanwhile, to ensure that the Therans will truly live in peace and prosperity, I have appointed Mordyval as the Overlord to rule and govern Thera, to help with wiping out the remnant of the rebels like the priest and the blacksmith and cooperating with peace-loving Therans towards greater mutual prosperity between Thera and Ashtan.

This is how the Peacekeepers of Ashtan has come into formation. Our initial show of determination and force may seem a bit harsh, but such are required in face of the severity of the situation.

As I have shown with my recent grant of full parole, Ashtan truly desires peace with its former enemies. However, it doesn't mean we are going to be lenient with conspirators against Ashtan and people who keep making troubles in Ashtan and its vicinity either. Please leave Thera alone, so Ashtan may continue its effort in helping Therans go back to their old way of life again. Landing troops there is just going to confirm further your having played a part in having conspired with the Theran Mayor against Ashtan.
