(OOC) Regarding Godhoods

Feverfew has already expressed many of my thoughts, but I also
wish to add that -because- I have great respect for all that has
been accomplished here, and for all those who have contributed, I
am extremely dismayed by the announcement that so defames one of
those contributors.
I do understand the need to try to fend off possible criticism
from those who might believe that Tarah's leaving was due to
negligence on the part of Achaea's leadership, in making her a
goddess. It is perfectly reasonable to reaffirm that godhoods
are given very selectively. Nonetheless, blatantly insulting
Tarah's player and the original player for Aegis was uncalled
for. While it may be common practice on an average mud to make
public slander against former members of the staff with whom the
leadership is dissatisfied, people have come to expect a higher
standard in Achaea.
Tarah was highly devoted to Achaea, and though the full and
complete reasons for her departure are known only to her, I am
personally confident that a person such as her would only leave
if she felt that was what was best for Achaea, as well as for
herself. I am also very confident that her reason for leaving
was -not- simply "because she did not like" serving as a goddess
anymore. I could not, in good conscience, allow the only publicly
declared opinion of Tarah's player be a harsh one, Tarah having
no means by which to defend herself, and that is why I have added
my voice to Feverfew's in speaking up on her behalf.
Thank you.
Penned by my hand on the 25th of Sarapin, in the year 263 AF.
