Treaty

As Overseer of Ashtan, I have been looking forwards to more talks with you, in regard to this treaty and every other issue that concerns both Ashtan and Hashan, in the spirit of cooperation and reciprocity. Napoloen made a good start, and I have every intention to continue the same spirit, not to the detriment of either city, but to benefit of both cities.

Personally, I have always held high respect for Raajin, for his eloquency of speech and adherence to his code of honour, though I don't always necessarily agree with his actions or words. My salute to him too for willing to go through a long trial at court in Ashtan and suffer the sentence accordingly. All the while he served as Guildmaster and a member in the Infernals guild, he was still considered a citizen de facto, banished to exile as the punishment.

Lately, he chose to form the Exodus Battallion and remove himself and his loyal subjects from the Infernals guild and the city of Ashtan to take their residence in Hashan. By the name he has titled his clan, I wish to question Raajin what he is identifying the Exodus Battalion as.

Formerly slaves to Ashtan who are seeking freedom in the promised land of Hashan? No, Ashtan never deprived Raajin of his freedom of speech or his right to get re-elected as Guildmaster. All he has been suffering is a consequence of his action, an action where he decided keeping his own code of honour was more important than keeping the city law.

By taking up citizenship in Hashan, Raajin is making himself a fugitive, No longer is he banished into exile. Rather, he has become a citizen in another city, enjoying the full rights and privileges of citizenship in Hashan.

Ashtan has respected the treaty by sacrificing a valued citizen, Tranquility, who was both Archon and Minister of Security. It is right that Ashtan expects the same reciprocity from Hashan.

However, in the spirit of cooperation, if it is the wish of Hashan to nullify or modify this treaty, I am always available for further talks with you. Negotiations are always possible for the mutual benefits of both cities.

Lastly, I solemnly request the removal of Mordyval's enemy status for having attacked Raajin in Hashan, without any need to pay fines. Not to mention whether it is according to the agreement that Raajin can become a citizen of Hashan yet, also the city of Ashtan has never been informed of Raajin's status in Hashan, neither privately nor publicly. For the sake of our good relations, let us settle this in the most appropriate manner.

Mistral, Overseer of Ashtan

Penned by my hand on the 21st of Chronos, in the year 261 AF.
