Rear Guard

Written by: Transcendent Blademaster Khejian, Acolyte of Sartan
Date: Tuesday, October 31st, 2000
Addressed to: Raajin Lucoster

Raajin, I have held council with the Infernal Secretaries. A vote was taken, and it was decided that not only will the Rear Guard not rejoin the Exodus Battalion, we will stay in Ashtan and follow the old ways of our guild.
Neither you nor the knights that follow you are Infernals any longer, except in class. I sever the ties between the two groups not because I do not believe in you, but because we have no desire to follow your path.

To the Knights of the Exodus Battalion, I realize this may come as a shock to you. I will allow any of you to rejoin the guild and serve Lord Sartan, including Sir Raajin, if you so wish it.
Likewise, to the Infernals that believe in Raajin's...journey, but were left behind in the rear guard, I offer to allow you to go forth from the guild and follow him if you so wish it.

To the rest of you, I would let it be known that while the Citadel won't directly follow Raajin, we still count him an ally - and personally, a friend. I give him my full blessing to do whatever he feels necessary to accomplish his dream, and I'll offer the services of myself and my knights towards this end.
That brings me to the Santra. They not only do not act in the wishes of the Citadel, they *oppose* our will with their actions. Foolish as they are, I would still hope that perhaps they will realize they have no cause for their actions when they read this, but if they still feel their "war" necessary, I would declare war on them.

That is all.
Transcendent Blademaster Khejian, Master of the Iron Citadel

Penned by my hand on the 23rd of Lupar, in the year 261 AF.
