Shrines and the Church

It saddens my heart when any shrine falls, and none can be blamed more so than the priests. Though this blame ultimately rests on the Church, I can only express shock and dismay that the destruction of perhaps the most blessed shrine was led by Laergon, leader of the Kharon, during a treaty with the Church. Perhaps the Church was foolhardy to trust Laergon and the Kharon, but such is our nature. My heart goes out to Laergon, whose newfound faith could not hold honor and trust, and surely his lack of integrity and inability to honor a treaty blemishes not only his soul but all the Kharon as well. Certainly, the Church forgives Laergon for his despicable acts, but I fear it will be some time before the Church may trust him again.

Although the times may be dark for the Church, the light of faith and love still shines forth. Already, my meager attempts have bolstered what was once a granite shrine and is now marble. I hope to soon bring it to its shining golden glory. If any wish to help the Church in her efforts to bring peace, prosperity, love and honor to the land, to help bolster the shrines. It is simple enough to make your personal sacrifices to the shrines, simply EMPTY BUCKET ON SHRINE TO SANCTIFY (Public News 592). I know there are those who support the Church for what she once was and what she might be again. If any feels inclined to lead a pious and humble life, who wishes to honor the gods and be a bastion of benevolence, please consider joining the priesthood, the spiritual leaders, or the templars, the protectors of justice. Let us shed the light of love upon the land and banish the time of darkness.
