Of Hashan and the Kharon

Greetings My dear, bellicose brother! While I am of a mind to laud Your
patronage of the Kharon, My joy is perhaps a trifle tempered by Your
unfounded and unfair accusations and characterizations of the noble
Crown of the Ithmia. I can appreciate that Your recent period of rest and
inactivity has led You to be a tad impatient for action, as well as a bit
foggy on issues that transpired during Your absence, and so I shall not
give vent to the deep umbrage I might otherwise feel in this circumstance.
Let it suffice to say that attempting to take refuge from one's flaws by
castigating others has little honour. If the Kharon tell You that their lack
of spirit ,or whatever they require to regain their mythical glory, is the
fault of Hashan, then they are sorely mistaken. Perhaps they need
to invoke those monkly disciplines and look inside for the source of their
woe. During My recently-vintaged tenure as Matron of Hashan, there
have been many times have I inquired as to the whereabouts of the
Kharon when the rest of the City took up arms against marauders and such.
When one of the Kharon and one of the Serpentlords attempted to
set up regular, structured training sessions, it was the Kharon whose
apathy and lack of interest and participation brought the project to a
standstill. I have been quite disturbed by this behaviour. I'd wager
that even our brother, Twilight, found their recalcitrance to be a
major source of frustration. Your vindictive comments toward Hashan
are ill-founded, misperceived, and unnecessary, and I shall not stoop
to responding in kind. The fact is that I, and I am sure Hashan, welcome
Your intention to whip the Kharon into shape and wish You great
success of it, to our mutual benefits. In future, perhaps you will do Me
the kindness of communicating Your concerns to Me for factual feedback
instead of lashing out at mortals who have no defense against divine
insult. Although the stench and discomfort of battle are not My
favoured cup of kawhe, nor the nominally peaceful ways of the
moon Your's. . .I am certain that there exists more common ground
between us than You may, at first glance, discern. Shall We start from
there?
