War

I have never been in a major war, only mere skirmishes. So my views on it are very limited. But I imagine the rush of adrenaline is greater, the air a bit more crisp in its scent. What I do know is that I have a heart and soul of a warrior. .
At first I was quick to pick up the blade and fight, but in time I had to learn that without a reason, something where victory, or defeat, does cost you, the battle had hollow feeling in me, which troubled my conscious. In time I chose my fights and battles more carefully, where the victory in it tasted that much sweeter and the defeat that much more bitter.
I feel I am most alive when the spectre of death for me is on the battlefield. That sense where each breathe I do take may be my last, and it becomes that more crisp. Where each move may be my last, and it flows that much smoother. Where each thought can be my last, and the details are much clearer.

To Istavan: You are right, war just is. I do not wish to beseech those who have fallen in battle before me, I do wish to honour them. I am still young to you, but the warrior path has been set out before me and it is one I travel, sometimes alone, at others with comrades in arms.

To Lord Aegis: Please do not view my postings as an inquiry into Divine realm, I am merely a mortal trying to figure out this path I take in life. I beleive if I can understand why I took it, the core of the reason I took it, it will be the first step on becoming a great warrior. For as of right now, I view myself only as a mediocre one.
