Contest of Wits

Today was witness of something that started as a harmless game, but soon
turned out to become a gamble with very high stakes indeed.

It started in the dungeon under the Dakhota Hills were Mordyval and myself were trying to find the answer to the ridle on the door to the throneroom of the Spiderqueen Lachesis.
It wasn't long before we found the answer and we started to give eachother ridles to solve. Mordyval knew many a riddle and we enjoyed ourselves with giving and solving them.

As i said it started harmless, but then we grew overconfident. So i challenged the Lady Gaia to a contest of wits and Mordyval joined me.
We had thought to play for the honour, but the Lady had other plans and as challenged one she could choose the prize.
Both Mordival and I would forfeit our lives should we not solve the ridle Gaia gave us, to leach us humility.

Backing out of the contest had become impossible and the following ridle was given to us. Mordyval and myself were allowed to guess three times each.

What is in dale and in sky, What once was naught now it thrives, It can be fierce or gentle, slow or fleet.

Lucky for us we were able to solve the ridle within the number of allowed guesses (although it was our last chance that saved our skins)

Then it was our turn to give a ridle, but how can a mortal think of a ridle that an omnipotent being doesn't know. Thus it was decided that the present Druids, being Kadien, Ragnorak and Numen, would answer it.

The ridle went as following:
Halls of pure white, surrounding gold, no locks no doors, yet everyone tries like a thief, to get the prize inside.

It was Ragnorak who came with the correct answer.

In the end we were all contestants were pleased with finding the answers and Gaia with her faithful druids, who proved they could match a Serpentlord and an Occultist in riddling.
(Although Mordy and I answered a ridle given by a goddess and the druids answered a ridle given by mortals <ahem>)

Anyway it was fun and worth risking being zapped for.
