Whilst all the shrines are dear to the Church, being our links to the
Gods, you will find that you WILL be able to destroy some of them. The
others, that we find neccessary, you will find very well protected and
nigh on impossible to destroy.

You will never remove all the shrines from the land, but do feel free
to attempt it, if it makes you happy.
