It is very convenient of you to forget our discussions that
we've had on at least 3 separate occasions, isn't it? Anyway,
this has turned into me saying 'No, I'm not,' and you saying
'Yes, you are,' with a little bit of flowery words around it.
I propose we end it.
As for my killing of you, you who have your own motives, I can
only tell you of the scenario in which I first started to con-
sider myself your enemy. There was a time when one of my closest
friends was being continually stripped of his possessions, by a
God, and as he sat in Shallam, you slipped into the city and shot
him with a voyria arrow. Thus, you committed an evil act by kill-
ing a good man. You also raided Shallam (as you have done num-
ous times in the past), which I can not allow, as I am an aide to
the Minister of Security.
I also hear rumours of your activities as an assassin, which is a
despicable practice, albeit one sanctioned by your city and guild.
Yet another reason I laugh when people tell me Ashtan is not a city
of evil.
Those are two very good reasons to kill you, and there are more,
but when Zaklin told us that we were to remain neutral when it
comes to you, I obeyed. I certainly hope that Zaklin realizes that
it was you who initiated this posting frenzy, not I.
Israfel.
Penned by my hand on the 11th of Phaestian, in the year 251 AF.
