A Rare OOC Post

I just need to get this off my chest. I rarely write OOC posts, but
sometimes the need just seems to arise.

It is my humble opinion (and perhaps I may be alone in this) that to
preserve atmosphere and game play for newbies in the seasons to come,
it is rather bad form to publish, either in whole or in part, quest
solutions. For instance, I have no problem and in fact greatly enjoy
roleplaying results of Gawain's publishing of journals. However, was
it really necessary to publicly post how to enter a secret location?
In the time to come when both Gawain and I are forgotten, wouldn't it
be more fun for a newbie to "discover" that entrance, rather than just
have to read through the old public news for solutions? I have never
published the orphanage quest publicly though I have shown many the
quest and it is much more fun showing them then just saying, well
READNEWS PUBLIC ###.

Although I could post such things as exactly how to enter the secret
Moghedu cell, how to enter the secret library in Hashan, the secret
of the snow blizzard to get to the gateway of the gods, but wouldn't
you rather figure that out yourself?

As I said before, this is only my opinion and I'm not advocating making
or enforcing any rules. I guess I'm just hoping to encourage everyone
to refrain from quest publishing, not so much for our own sakes but
for future generations of Achaeans.

Penned by my hand on the 10th of Miraman, in the year 190 AF.
