The statue, and the prophecy

The meteorite that crashed by shallam was actually a stone tablet,
that landed on top of Deucalion's old Altar. Driven to it by a weak
and faded whisper for help, I encountered Azhrarn and Urtolus, who
were already puzzling over its mystery. The words are as follows:

As the shadow of darkness falls across the land,
And injustice block the purest light
When few together make a stand
He who is lost will take up the fight
When Scattered essence slowly returns,
Finding again a once shattered form,
The blade of justice shall begin to burn
And elder and younger will battle the storm
As essence is spilled across the night,
And darkness begings once more to heal
With his coming the dark has lost fight
And justice shall once more prevail

As we puzzled over its meaning, Azhrarn heard a similar whisper
to the one that had driven me to the tablet, asking him to "find
and protect", this, combined with the location of the tablet on
Deucalion's Altar, drove us to the gorge, the place where Deucalion
had sacrificed himself. And there, we found a most unusual sight, a
transluscent statue, of a divine warrior wielding a golden sword,
with a plaque simply requesting "Help...."
As we argued over what to do with this, the whispers for aid
continued, along with other, stronger, voices, one of which I
recognised as that of Twilight, urging me not to assist the statue
We discovered that by offering at the statue.... to Deucalion....
the statue could be strengthened, and eventually, the divine voices
counselling us against aiding it faded away, with the final question
Are we really gods?" "Or are we much more?
The strengthened statue then spoke to us, not with the voice of
Deucalion, but with many voices, and amongst other things, told
us that it was up to the prophets to decipher what we were given.
It also told us something that was blatantly obvious, from the
very beginning: All is not as it seems, we are being manipulated.
Still, acting with that sure knowledge, I trust we will make the
right decision, to either assist the statue, deny it the offerings
that seem to be granting it strength, or alternatively, wait for
more information. Whatever is happening, it is clearly happening
on a higher plane, above mortal comprehension, and we are but the
lowly pawns in whatever game is being played.

May whichever you god grant you insight.

Penned by my hand on the 5th of Mayan, in the year 246 AF.
