How refreshing it was to read your post applauding the application of logic and reason in the ongoing quest for Scientific Achievement and the Advancement of Knowledge. Doubly so coming from a member of the most intellectually stunted guild in Achaea. Thererfore I am greatly heartened and hold high hopes for the future of ALL the Infernals if one of its members is allowed to express the slightest degree of open-mindedness and free will in so public a forum as this board without serious repercussions. I await events with breathless anticipation.

So, with your kind encouragement, allow me to offer some insights gleaned from your own words. Perhaps a Truth may emerge from them that you hardly realized, 'ere ye put quill to parchment.

I found your references to 'cartography and exploration' to be most illuminating. Let us deal with the latter first. Exploration requires bravery, endurance and proper planning to achieve maximum results. There is little doubt that theses are assets the Infernals have in abundance. However, the zest for learning and the open-mindedness required for exploration, whether in the physical world OR the intellectual, is utterly anathema to the Infernal creed as written in this forum and practiced in the world at large, and the wondrous joys of opening new horizons, of land OR thought, are completely denied to you. I find that rather sad.

Secondly, your reference to 'cartography' may be taken as an unconcious metaphor for the entirely proscribed and circumscribed lifestyle to which you have devoted your life. Cartography is the making and the study of maps and, like a well charted course, the Infernal guild plies its course allowing for no deviation in path, no gainsaying of the options (if any) available to you and absolutely no expressions of independent view or free will. Each Infernal is a cookie-cutter made replica of the next, if the outline of Infernal Creed is to be believed. The boundaries of maps are well defined, and so too is the role of the Infernal.

This is no doubt regarded as a strength by the Membership. It charts a course for an end and applies with maximum efficiency the assets available to it to achieve its aims. And what are these aims? To make themselves stronger by the weeding out of those they perceive to be 'weak', the logic being that the world is a stronger place for it. The strength or power you gain is a relative thing. Logically, you do NOT attain power by eliminating the weak. They die, but you are static. Rather, you gain power by enobling yourselves...by ENABLING yourselves, by ELEVATING yourselves. This requires a clear mind unencumbered by strictures, of proscribed methods of thought and is again utterly anathema to the revealed Infernal Creed.

Cartography is not Science. Neither is exploration. They are avocations. It is merely the application of science, as discovered by those who possess the FREEDOM and FREE WILL to open their minds to the infinite possibilities of the Universe.

Search your own heart and mind as you read this and your own words, and reflect on the tortures you unconciously endure as you live a creed which in reality you cannot conform too. Think too on the import of offering '5000 golden sovereigns to the person or persons who can, indeed, locate this finite boundary boundary of the world, and cast Dr. Dingo off the edge of it.'...the internal dichotomy revealed in this statement is manifestly obvious to anyone who has eyes to see, ie: on the one hand, you express admiration for an idea and in the other hand you would destroy the creator of it. Additionally, it didn't escape my notice that YOU didn't offer to cast me over the edge personally..most un-Infernalish of you.

You have my deepest sympathy over your plight, one that will be resolved to your enoblement, it is to be hoped.

Selah...
