Everyone is missing the point of City Defenses. Defenses to protect
the people of that city. The biggest complaint is that the cities
are not using these as a defense but a compliment to their fighting.
Also, people pointed out dragging a murderer back to the city to
exact revenge, this is one a cowardly act and two an abuse of
a system of defense for an act of violence. I am in favour of the
reduction of city defenses, people say well it takes the safety away from
peaceful and non-violent people, well if they are truly peaceful and non-violent
they have less chance of being attacked then say Zaklin or Isildur. And if
they are truly peaceful they have no need of fear of attack as the gods have
granted them perfect protection from harm, which as far as I am aware
of the only reason to reject grace is to use skills of violence. So now
the question is what exactly do the city defenses do now, provides a sanctuary
for people to plan attacks, run out slaughter someone and return to the safety of
their city, or to use the city defenses to kill another person. Now as
I stated once to the Elders of the Land, to keep signaling out Shallam
is unfair because at one point or another every city has done this, my time
as a citizen of Ashtan I participated in Thakrens use of summoning powers
to bring good aligned church members into the city to be slaughtered.
