Another idea for city defenses.

I think this would be a great compromise in the way that city defenses work. Why not let cities hire divisions of guards, like those old army divisions were, and have these archers roam around the city, and move towards enemies that are in the city. They would have a range, say up to three rooms away, and would move after city enemies at a rate that would allow the enemies to outrun them for a bit but be set upon again if they stopped to fight. Also, if they worked as divisions, then city enemies would be able to fight against the guards of said cities, perhaps making it easier (or even harder) on themselves once they are there. Also, why not allow cities to hire different amounts of guard divisions? With just one division they might be overwhelmed, but if say only two city enemies are in the city and there are three guard divisions it would be harder to outrun them, and someone might get weighed down with almost every guard in the city on them. It would even allow for tactics, such as "you distract th
Of course telepaths are telepaths, and they dont even make an appearance in my opinion unless they are in a special room that could be assaulted to get rid of them, with a bit of luck, hmmmm
Finally, why are the only guards archers and telepaths? Why not let Shallam have Paladin Guards who fight city enemies like mobiles if they catch them, Paladin Archers too, and Ashtan could have Infernal Guards and Shadowsnake Archers. Hashan could have Serpentlord Archers and Kharon Monks as the up close and personal types. At an additional price, why not let certain guard divisions fire poisoned arrows?
Also, there should be a guard tower with a lookout and a bell to ring to warn people when a city enemy enters the city. And he might not be able to see everything, but if there are telepaths at work, then they would be warned like that and the bell would be rung to warn the citizens. But then I think it would be cool if he would be technically killable too and there is a chance to keep the alarm from going off. And why have just one guard tower anyway?
Hehehe sorry but once I get started on this sort of thing its hard to stop me. Thank you for reading.
