the sands of time

Phoenyx can no longer post on the news boards; Sarapis deleted his last post (formerly 4634) and told him that his comments werent in character. For this reason, Im taking Phoenyx place; I know him like a brother.

Cynne Ravenwind writes:
=You 2 are obviously quite young and inexperienced=

Phoenyx is inexperienced only as far as this land as concerned. He has had quite a few experiences in other lands. If youd like to hear of his experiences on other lands, feel free to ask him.

=and as an outcast myself I understand your anger and frustration. But I would like to just comment on a few things in your collective posts. First off, Mandrache, ousting Mandrake is Druid business, not Achaean business. It can be easily done, someone must simply challenge him.=

Challenge him to what, a duel? Hes the second most physically powerful player here.

=It doesn't need to become a public manner. I don't know if you were or are a Druid, but I can tell you right now, if you were outguilded I can see why. Phoenyx, what makes you think you have the authority to post other peoples' private business all over the public boards?=

Its not private business; its this rift within the druids guild thats tearing it apart at the seams. Phoenyx would prefer that this issue was on a druids board, but since Im not a druid, I cant do so.
_________________________________________

=Secondly, you are ragging on a Goddess for not kicking someone who doesn't like her out of her guild? What sort of Gods do you expect us to have? Would you really want to be a part of a guild that demanded you follow a specific God?=

No. However, I think it is hypocritical of Mandrake, the leader of the druids, to on the one hand accept Gaias patronage and on the other not seem to mind that Cathor and some other people in the guild think so poorly of her. If I were the patron of the druids and was confronted with this situation, I would wish to talk to my critics if they would be polite about it. If they either wouldnt be polite or wouldnt talk to me about it, my next course of action would be to give Mandrake an ultimatum; resolve this matter to my satisfaction or youll no longer have me as a patron. This doesnt mean that Id want Mandrake to necessarily outguild Cathor and crew, but it _does_ mean that at the very least, there should be some serious discussion about it.
_________________________________________

=Thirdly, the goal of the Druids is not to coddle their members. This is a guild with a purpose.=

And what purpose is that exactly? To protect the forest? I never had anything against that. However, if the purpose in question is to coddle certain members into thinking they can be abusive to their own matron goddess however, then the purpose is a sick one and must be changed.
_________________________________________

=Now I don't know all your details (although I unfortunately know the details of a bunch of other peoples' personal lives now thank you.)=

The details of those personal lives _are_ the details of this rift. No, I dont know all of them, but I told everyone all I know; Judging by how Cathor feels about me now, amoung others, Im doubtful that itll be easy for me to get more information from here on in.
_________________________________________

=As far as Mandrake goes, I know him and I know his family, and I've known four other Druid GMs in my lifetime. Almost none of them were as bad as people made them out to be.=

I believe that Ive simply stated the facts; if you believe otherwise, please point out where you think I havent been truthful or have not gotten the story straight.
_________________________________________

=I am sure Mandrake is doing the best he can.=

I agree. But I think that people like Mandrache and me can help him to do better.
_________________________________________

=Okay, I'm done. Cynne Ravenwind, Either the Voice of Experience or the Voice of Hypocracy, you pick=

The voice of some experience. But me and Phoenyx have experiences of our own...

Penned by my hand on the 22nd of Glacian, in the year 243 AF.
