The Occultists Guild

I feel it is time to remind the general public that the Occultists Guild
is a nonaligned guild. We are an eclectic group of individualists (a philosophy the followers of the Church may find anathema) and as such
represent a broad range of idealogies, ranging from the goodly to the
not so goodly, from the lawful to the not so lawful, and all variations
thereof. If you see an Occultist helping the sick and needy, you would
be mistaken to assume that all Occultists help the sick and needy. As has
been written, the purpose of the Occultists is to safeguard ancient tomes
and manuscripts that hold certain mystic, esoteric knowledge. Although we
may come together in times when this sacred task is threatened (like the
burning times of the Church), for the most part, individual Occultists are
free to pursue and find their own paths and forge their own fates.
As Guildmistress, my foremost duty is to make sure the Occultists Guild
carries out this sacred task. It would be the height of hubris, therefore,
for me in my role as Guildmistress to dictate a guildmember's individual
actions, which would go against the grain of our very teachings. Thus, I
simply remind the public to treat Occultists as individuals, not as a single
entity. We are, after all, simple librarians when you get right down to it.
Respectfully, Servelan de Vermiis, Demiurge of the Occultists
Penned by my hand on the 7th of Chronos, in the year 186 AF.
