My involvement

Dearest Discordia,

With the innocent members of Aegis' Order being threatened with extinction to further the Dark designs of Twilight in His quest to force His will upon a member of a fellow Divinities Order, it is well within My realm to offer assistance to My brother Aegis to keep this injustice from taking place. If as Twilight claims, this was not the case and involved just Nuitari himself, then the matter would have between Aegis and Twilight and I would have let Them fight the matter out between Themselves. Since the situation is resolved, this seems to be rather a mute point.

As to those who think that this is a just and reasonable oath, let Me put forth the following situation for you. A Kharon monk, although we could use any member of the guild that Twilight patrons as an example, finds exception in how his/her guild is run or has a disagreement in which he feels that he must depart the confines of that guild (for example his/her patron god has a problem with the practices of that guild). Under the current agreement he can be subject to the wrath of the patron god, in this example Twilight, and/or the entire guild until he has quit that class (losing all the knowledge that he has accumulated in that paticular set of guild skills with no recourse but starting over in life).

I agree that on the surface that the oath looks quite reasonable, but as with all things that Twilight touches it is easily twisted to the manner in which He can use it as a weapon to destroy those who do not agree with Him or speak out against those that He has made pacts with in exchange for their current power. Perhaps I am mistaken and Twilight is indeed not trying to circumvent the personal relationship between follower and their Patron with this intercessory guild relationship.

I caution those mortals who would seek those guilds that the Shadow God patrons to be sure of their decision, for as seen by the recent events, Twilight will hold you to the TIGHTEST restriction of that contract and will use any and all means at His disposal that you comply with His will. I must say it is ironic indeed that Hashan portrays itself to the be the home of those seeking to free themselves of the confines of restrictive governments and such and yet they enslave them to something so much more restrive than they could ever imagine.

Aurora, Goddess of Light

P.S. Oh Eris, as a Goddess who values freedom of thought and action, I would be interested in how you feel regarding this restrictive oath that removes all personal choice from its victim. I would have thought you of all of Us would have been railing against it. Perhaps then again You are under His sway as well.

Penned by my hand on the 12th of Scarlatan, in the year 241 AF.
