Okay, I'm not going to try to explain Chaos. That's just plain Doom. I mean, just look at fnord...
I will, however, ramble on about truths, and the self-imposed order that sometimes finds its way into our points of view.
"Truth" is what you make it. We all see things differently. (to borrow from a good book...) "Grids of reality" define what we see with our brains. The laws which we know (and sometimes embrace) are what makes yellow yellow, or cheese a foodstuff (*hugs Alpine*) and not a device for communication. Most people just take for granted the fact that this is this way JUST BECAUSE.
But to a different person, there could be subtle differences. (or very extreme differences, for that matter) Whereas to Joe B. Lockininny, a big, savory hunk of cheddar cheese could be off yellow, moving toward orange, the same hunk of cheese could be bright yellow, no orange at all. Or the difference could be as much as completely opposite, the cheese could be silver with green girraffe spots. The point is, no two people percieve the "reality" of the world the same.
Culture, beliefs, religion, trauma, morals (and much much more!) all dictate what laws and order we create for ourselves in the vast canvas that is chaos.
Some would argue that truth is relative. Some divine would say that it is not. I believe it is, and that's all that matters to me.
As far as I'm concerned, I could be in a small, white padded room, physically, but if I were TRULY convinced I were in Sunny Hashan sipping some wonderful white wine, I might as well me in Hashan.
The trick is to break free from the order that confines us from being creative. Creativity is comprised of both Disorder *AND* Order. To supress either puts you under the effects of one of two Illusions. (who I won't name, because I don't want to) To be creative is far superior to being destructive. Chaos, to me, is about having fun, and creating. Wether it be art, philosophy, freedom, whatever. As long as I'm being creative, I'm happy.
It works for me, and I thought it was appropriate for the long debate that I KNOW is going to follow.
Of course, fnord too. bekl.
Just my 5 sovreigns.
