Simple Curiosity

Neokove's recent post has spurred a question in my mind, one I am most eager to hear a reasonable answer to. I do not write this to denounce anyone's personal beliefs, but to clarify something in my own oft-confused brain.
With the appearance of the Priestess and the Quisalar came much strife within these lands. People have divided themselves into factions opposing one or the other, and behaved in what has often been a very violent manner toward the other group. Understandable, perhaps, when the issue is that of Life and Death...
Recently, however, a more immediate threat presented itself to our existence here in Achaea, that of the hordes of Undead and their Masters ravaging the countryside as they pleased. Zsarachnor and Belladonna united against a common enemy, an enemy that many in Sapience also work against: Lord Thoth.
When this happened, I heard the shouts of many who agreed with the infamous vampires, saying that, indeed, His return should be prevented at all costs. I fail to understand, however, why anyone, most notably those Churchmembers who seek to thwart the efforts of the cultists, would aid these abominations to both the realms of Life and Death.
I have always been told that the Church reviles such creatures, and so, as you, dear reader, can understand, I am more than a little confused by such actions and statements.
If any among you could enlighten me as to the wisdom of such a decision, I would be most grateful.

May the Gods, in Their wisdom, show us the Way...
