Guild Charter

Some of you older brethern may be able to correct me but from what I understand, when we first entered Shallam there was no charter asked of us. We were welcomed into the city without bindings. I think that we are considered a neutral guild though we do have members who are more involved in Shallamese interests than others. Why was this proposed now? Where is Willin's voice in this document?
I think that it would not be in Shallam's best interest to force us out. Shallam is considered a city of light and freedom. If we were forced out, then will Shallam be any different than Ashtan in that respect. I think Shallam as a city should welcome our presences and our members strength but recognize that we as a full guild need to remain independant.
I also do not think we need to swear to any city as a guild. I am sure that we have brethern who can easily swear that oath but consider those who are not shallamese. What of them? We have many brethern who are not citizens, why should they swear that oath. I am a shallamese citizen and I welcome my freedom to move where I wish. It is because of this freedom, that I remain a shallamese citizen.
I do think though that we need to help Mical out with the response. All of us, as individuals, need to give him our thoughts and feelings based on how we percieve it (and I am sure that there are many points of view) and based on that, he should be able to know what is right for all of us.
Let's here from you that are not Shallamese. Where are your voices??
