Shades of Grey

The church has power...power corrupts. I don't care how good
the intentions are, in time an inquisition will begin and
a wave of bloody horror will sweep the land in the name of
what is good and pure. It cannot be averted, because of one
simple thing, the members of the church believe that the
ends justify the means.
Not to say that the infernals are any better...they tend
to use every dirty trick in the book, and they are just as
bad as the church in nearly every respect. Every respect
but one. They tend not to justify their actions, I expect
them to murder and attempt to amass power because that is
WHAT they do.
I don't expect this from the church, I don't expect them to
justify one death for another. But they do. I don't expect
them to burn the village to save it...but they are.
Maybe the infernals and the church sleep better at nights
blaming eachother for deaths, but until the tension snaps
between you two, I doubt I shall ever sleep well again.
I write this with deep regret and sorrow,
hoping that I shall be proven wrong.
