To any whom might be interested, I submit the following conversation, comments and explanation to follow.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Monk-Man Dekkar Docesi, Fist of Knowledge tells you, "You were enemied for attacking citizens within the city limits."

You tell Monk-Man Dekkar Docesi, Fist of Knowledge, "Hmm... I see... May I inquire whom I attacked?"

Monk-Man Dekkar Docesi, Fist of Knowledge tells you, "Dalamar ;)."

You tell Monk-Man Dekkar Docesi, Fist of Knowledge, "(laugh) Yes, I *always* jump Dalamar, don't I? You know, rumor has it that *he* jumped *me* in Shallam, and then Caerid killed me while I was trying to escape, before Dalamar enemied me. But I suppose that must just be a nasty rumour. Thank you for your prompt response."

Monk-Man Dekkar Docesi, Fist of Knowledge tells you, "It's out turf. You should;expect to be attacked when you enter the city."

Monk-Man Dekkar Docesi, Fist of Knowledge tells you, "Our."

You tell Monk-Man Dekkar Docesi, Fist of Knowledge, "(chuckle Yes, I've noticed. I'm curious as to who "our" refers to, though -- would "our" mean Shallamites, or Basilicates?"

Monk-Man Dekkar Docesi, Fist of Knowledge tells you, "Shallam includes the church."

You tell Monk-Man Dekkar Docesi, Fist of Knowledge, "I see.... thank you again for your prompt response."

Monk-Man Dekkar Docesi, Fist of Knowledge tells you, "*smile*."
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Now then -- I'll be the first to say that there really wasn't anything about the situation in question that was surprising or shockingly "wrong". Caerid attacked me in an attempt to prevent me from buying buckets, and Dalamar attacked me at the same time because... erm, well, because he's Dalamar. (shrug) I don't really blame either one of them.

Nor do I particularly see anything untoward about being enemied from the city by Dalamar while all of this was taking place. Were I Dalamar, I'm sure I'd take steps to prevent me from purchasing buckets in Shallam, as well.

However, lets be frank with each other and drop this pretty little facade that seems to have become so popular as of late, eh? Dekkar summarized the situation very succintly when he stated, "It's our turf. You should expect to be attacked when you enter the city", and I applaud his candor in the matter.

I'm nae certain where the idea that Shallam and the Church are these two distinctly separate entities that function autonomously from one another, and should not be held responsible for each other's actions was first given birth to, but it is quite possibly the most ridiculous bit of "dancing around the truth" that I've witnessed recently in this forum.

I am to be to enemied from Shallam because I am an enemy of the Church, then that is all well and good, and a perfectly reasonable precaution. But I find it quite disheartening that some apparently feel the need to disguise the action behind baseless accusations and ridiculous "official" explanations.

If you wish to drive me, or anyone else, back to Minia, then so be it -- such a pursuit is your right, and I'll tip my cap and wish you sporting luck.... But it would reflect well upon you to cease insulting the collective intelligence of all of Achaea by pretending that the daily bloodshed that takes place upon the soil of Sapience is some sort of misunderstood coincedince. (scoff)
