This VERY long post is required reading for supplicants seeking entrance into the knightly guild of the Infernals. If that is you, read it, understand it, and if you are still interested in joining the Infernals, contact someone who is able to inguild you for an interview. You can find them by reading the registry HELP INFERNALS. You will be held accountable for the information posted here, so read it carefully.
---Who are the Infernals?---
We are a guild of "lawful evil" knights under the leadership of Lord Sartan. Sartan is an evil God and a creator of growth through conflict. HELP SARTAN, and posts 2076, 2095, and 2158 will give you a very good idea what He and the Infernals are about. We are very strict regarding the conduct of our members, with offenders being punished severely. This, along with our strong leadership (starting with the examples given to us by Sartan himself) make us a very homogenous guild. Also, HELP INFERNALS, HELP CHIVALRY, HELP WEAPONRY, and HELP NECROMANCY.
---What is expected of you when you join?---
Quest: As part of your interview, you will be required to perform a service to show the guild your worth. This may involve earning money, learning a quest, composing a post, or any test of your convictions devised by the interviewer. To be sure we expect a lot of you. Therefore you can expect a lot of the guild.
Oath: Upon completing your quest, you will be required to take a vow. You will be expected to answer "yes" to the following:
1-Have you read this post in its entirety and did you understand it?
2-Do you swear to uphold the Code of honour as it is written in this post?
3-Do you swear to follow the instructions of Lord Sartan and the guild officers without question?
4-Do you swear to conduct yourself in an orderly fashion so as not to embarrass the guild?
5-Do you swear to learn to fight, and to kill to further the goals of the Infernals?
6-Are you aware that not complying with the guide lines laid out in this post is grounds for guild disciplinary measures?
After inguilding, you will be given a title describing some lowly position in the guild, such as "Hector, Bootblack of the Iron Citadel". This title will improve as you learn to fight and learn what is required of you as a knight.
---A thorough explanation---
Conduct: Being the lawful, militaristic guild we are, we follow a code of honour. As knights, this code defines the focus for our common goals and our common mindset. The code is listed at the end of this post. Outguilded members, and those who quit us, are the most hated of all our enemies. They will be persecuted relentlessly. Anyone planning to join the guild so they can go solo at guild level five, should consider this.
As creators of conflict here in Achaea, Infernals are not well liked by others, especially church members. Your duties lie first to Sartan, second to your guild, third to the city of Ashtan, and fourth to your self.
Goals: We seek to do many things, but typically our work is about weakening the Church of Achaea, its members, and its allies. We create conflict, and spread our own lawful doctrines. We work to increase the influence of Sartan with offerings, word on the streets, as well as increasing the size and political influence of Sartans guild. As soldiers and tacticians, some members of our guild may wish to be involved in troop movements to increase the landholdings of Ashtan. Guild members are expected to be active.
Roleplay: HELP ROLEPLAY. Keep your ooc chatter down. Silly titles and silly or "out of character" (ooc) shouts will not be tollerated. We do not fraternize with the enemy. Keep your relations clean. Groups such as druids are useful as merchants, but otherwise keep your relationships limited to guilds that are similar of purpose to ours. Neither may you relate guild oriented information such as our skills to people outside our guild.
Religion: As a guild member, you work for Sartan and will do anything He asks, without question or hesitation. His divine judgement is not for any mortal to second guess. If you wish to debate His reasons, you will do it as a non guild member. If you follow the teachings of another God, ask yourself if that Gods ethos is in keeping with this guild. It is not forbidden to worship other Gods than Sartan as an Infernal, but it can be difficult. At the same time, respect all Gods, including those of Chaos, and those of Goodness and Light. It is Their collective divine benevolence that allows us to live our lives in Achaea, and disrespect to any of them will not be tolerated.
PlayerKilling: At the time of this writing, the Infernals are the only decidedly pk guild in Achaea. You will be expected to fight our enemies soon after you join. You brothers and sisters will be happy to teach you what they can in our combat styles. Every member will learn to fight with no exceptions, and whining about your losses is not acceptable. This is not to say you should go on random killing sprees. HELP PLAYERKILLING is important reading.
Teaming: Teaming is gathering a group of people together to attack a single defender. We have previously had a strict policy against it, but our opponents had no such policy and we were quite the worse for wear of it. You are now encouraged to team any opponent too powerful for you to beat in a one on one fight. Achaeas general populace and this guild in particular, do not like the use of it, but it is a necessity to survival. Use this strategy with care, so as not to bring the guild in a dishonourable light. Large battles (3 against 5 or perhaps many more) are not considered teaming. Sporting events such as the FFA (Free For All) are contests for individuals. It is better to lose the FFA to a team with your honour intact, than to win a FFA by teaming and bring disgrace to the guild.

INFERNAL CODE OF HONOUR
1) BRAVERY: Do not cower behind the grace of the gods, or hide in safe rooms. Do not quit Achaea to avoid a fight or hide in the news room.
2) WISDOM: Losing a fight is acceptable, if you learn from the experience. Your immediate losses will pay off in the long run.
3) CHIVALRY: Dueling on the field of honour is the true test of a chivalrous knight. If your opponent is obviously too powerful for you, ask a guild member to champion you. Taking a second with you to the appointed time and place is advised so he can collect your remains should you lose, and aiding your escape should the opponent begin to cheat. If your challenger is not of a chivalrous nature, you need not debase yourself with showing them a gentlemans respect.
4) PIETY: Honour the Deities of Achaea at all times. Serve our Patron Sartan in word and in deed. Follow the teachings of Sartan as revealed in His 7 truths.
5) LOYALTY: Do not speak ill of guild members to non guild members, or speak of guild related affairs, politics or strategies to non members.
6) MENTORING: Assist new members in matters of combat and self conduct. Champion young guild members who need help against stronger foes.
7) SOBRIETY: We do not participate in actions as individuals, that will bring the guild as a whole to shame: silly titles, ooc shouting, etc.
8) COMBAT: Treat warriors with respect, especially other knights. Glory in the art of combat and the fellowship it brings. Strengthening Achaea by removing or persecuting its weaker elements (weaker as in undesirable or lacking potential as opposed to physical strength) brings glory to all Achaeans.
9) REASON: Choose your battles with purpose and defend your honour both verbally, and on the field. Revenge and battle lust are useful tools, but not synonymous with honour. Discretion is the better part of valor.
