Dark Salutations,
I am rather shocked and dismayed to discover that someone had the audacity to invade the sovereignty of the city-state of Ashtan. This or these criminal(s) as the case may be, are obviously trying to cause the treaty that is currently in effect to crumble to dust. What truly amazes Me, however, is not the fact that this was done, but the fact that the Church _sanctioned_ the destruction of a shrine. Although I am not the Divine Patron of the Church, the Church should not be doing such things, for no matter _who_ raises a shrine at _any_ location, that shrine is still something sacred to the Church, or does the Church no longer consider shrines as sacred? Now then, with this recent development, I would like to know the stance of the Church on the matter of defilement and sanctification. Does the Church only sanctify when it suits them? Is _defiling_ an option for the Church now? Or do they no longer raise shrines to honour those Gods who champion their causes, but rather raise shrines for their own power?

Penned by my hand on the 13th of Chronos, in the year 238 AF.
