If shrines are permanent fixtures, why bother complaining about them?
If you know the Church can't remove them, there is no point in
demanding that they do.
Further, as for who the Church is protecting other than itself,
in this case, me. Portis has also declared her opposition to the
Empire. In fact, so has Damascas, a Kharon monk (I thought this
was the Kharon Empire?).
As for the Church as ruler vs. Empire, I choose neither, but I
would choose the Church over the Empire. Even you, Servelan,
a devout enemy of the Church was allowed to roam free, and, in fact
I, a former Church supporter, was put to death for having a
hand in your death.
hand in your death.
Under the Empire, on the other hand, all those who do not
choose to support it, and instead choose to point out how
corrupt it is, are supposedly hunted down and killed (I say
supposedly because it is only actually the Occultist members
of the Kharon empire who are capable of this, not the Kharon
ruers).
ruers).
At the end of the day, despite my troubles with the Church,
I would happily choose them over you. Of course, I will
actively oppose either one trying to stop me walking around
in a city.
Penned by my hand on the 14th of Sarapin, in the year 185 AF.
