I would advise that such careless attitude as yours - on the matter of what external parties think - should not be the case of the church, or priesthood as you put it. If there's one thing more dangerous than an wrong-doer, one single thing more morally wrong, it's a priest who cares not to show the way of Light to the ignorants and by thus doing does not render the world a nicer, more supportive place.
