This post has been long in coming:

I would like to formally apologize for the prideful and ignorant actions which brought upon your wrath. I realize that as a mere mortal, it is not my place to challenge a god, and that in many things I have been wrong. In the future, I shall listen to your wise council in areas of nature, and attempt to serve and protect nature as well as I know how.
I hope fervently that you will grant me forgiveness, though do not expect it.
