You have no dominion over Moghedu. Keep us out of your wars, or we
will subdue you again like we did under command of Nicator. This is
a warning to both Ashtan and Shallam:
Long ago, we, the Mhun, formed the main body of the army that Nicator
used to pacify Ashtan and Shallam, because their wars threatened to
disable the ability of the overland to resist inevitable Tsol'teth invasion. Nicator did prevail of course, and his grandchildren fought back the Tsol'teth invasion with an army built from all civilized communities on the continent.
700 years later, after Nicator's capital city, Seleucar, had become an imperial tyrant, Ashtan, Shallam, Hashan, Thera, et al banded together under the banner of the Sapient League, to demand more freedom in government from imperial Seleucar. Seleucar merely laughed at the provincials who sought to tell them what to do. By then, Seleucar was so weakened from decadence, and centuries of mis-rule, that the Sapient League merely marched its army in, and slew the entire imperial family, to stop any claimaints to a new imperial crown. That was 225 years ago. Since then of course, the two cities have started squabbling and bickering like children. Ashtan, particularly, I have noticed, makes continual attempts to take over the world. Frankly though, I do not care who is starting this war.
Keep us out of it. Clearly the two cities cannot seem to get along (and one wonders how Hashan feels about Ashtan making demands on their behalf), but the wrath of the Mhun will come pouring down upon you if make this war involve us.
Penned by my hand on the 13th of Aeguary, in the year 234 AF.
