The only other solution is for the guilds to start chilling out and not being so ridiculously hard about letting newbies in. (all guilds are not guilty of this, but some are). I'm not going to sit and watch hordes of frustrated newbies leave Achaea because they haven't been able to, for instance, kill 10 black rats and get 1000 gold without any guild skills.
