Hello Sapients and Meropians,

On behalf of the County Palatinate of Saravoia and the Duchy of Aster Malik, it is my honour to formally invite you to join us for a number of presentations, games, shows, and an act of community service in line with our sacred principle of Viklokhet.

We thank the Asterian Restoration for inclusion in these festivities, and are ever grateful to the Lord Bard Scarlatti for His generous invitation.

The Duchy of Aster Malik's august history runs back to the Seleucarian Empire, and it stands as a bastion of the values the Empire held. We of Saravoia find inspiration in these values, and became sworn vassals of the Duchy in order to better support them and contribute in our own fashion.

As such, these events are a collaboration and will highlight both Aster Malik and its history, and the mark Saravoia is aiming to make.

Festivities begin on or about the 23rd of Glacian, on the Serenade of that month. For those of you keeping track, that's not this Serenade but the next.

Note this is a packed calendar and not all events are expected to take a full day. Some may have slightly delayed starts but we will be sure to be vocal about such things as they come up.

EVENT : The Founding of Saravoia
WHEN : 23rd Glacian, Serenade

Wherein I shall begin by offering a history of the founding, the path to breaking ground and why we - myself, Gaelyn, and my sister Kirsi - did it. I shall touch on the early influence of Aster Malik and the great dream of Viklokhet that is why we persist and why some choose to join us.

Viscount Gaelyn will then discuss the struggle of the early days, the outcry and controversy we faced, culminating in open war between ourselves and the Chaghut, calamitous enough to draw in northern adventurers on both sides.

EVENT : Overview of Meropian Feudalism

We're going a little off the itinerary on this one, as Ser Aerek has determined that a game would better introduce these concepts than an academic lecture. As he is the liege, I must defer to his judgment. Plus, I kind of agree. Who doesn't love games?

He's being rather hush, I admit. I'm not actually sure the rules. I invite you to join me in the moment of revelation and I look forward to competing against you.

EVENT : Vision of Viklokhet

Our Court Bard has devised a vision quest for the intrepid to take, wherein they shall choose their own path on branching, uncertain roads. This will introduce aspects of our work and the mindset that leads one to Viklokhet.

This one is for the logistics and economics buffs among you. I will show you around but I am not your presenter. Instead, presentations will be given by the citizens of Cabotsaria; the people who built this place and made their homes here. We'll go over agriculture, use of local resources, the agony of importing, the necessity of self-reliance and how the definition of self includes your community.

We owe a great deal of what we've done to the inspirations of creative minds, far beyond my own. To honour the Lord Bard, we shall host an open house of our gallery including explanations for various pieces and how they came to us.

Join us for a playful retelling of Aster Malik's history, exploring the keep's storied past, its ties to Saravoia, and bringing shared history to life.

EVENT : Renewed Fealty to the Ducal Seat
WHEN : 19th of Mayan, Twenty-One Days Past Serenade
WHERE : Passing beneath the gates of Aster Keep, 61888, Aster Town

Over three decades ago we bound our fate to Aster Malik with a feudal contract of vassalage. In this event we shall renew our oath of fealty with an ancient ritual of unity, loyalty, and noble obligation to our liege and to Meropis.

We shall gather at the noted location but the actual ceremony occurs within. It is a secure area so be sure to arrive by last call as the gate will be locked behind us.

EVENT : House Raising and Bonfire Dance
WHEN : 20th of Mayan, Twenty-Two Days Past Serenade
WHERE : The heart of Cabotsaria East, 67788, Meropis

When you live on the frontier, all hands take part in the work. A rather traditional gathering where we shall take a patch of empty land and build a modest home for one of our own. Attendees are invited to take part in raising this home, and at the conclusion of the work we shall build a bonfire in the noted location with drink, food, music and revelry. This shall also serve as the closing ceremony.
