An apology is a private matter, unless the person asking for it desires it to be public.

An apology requires more than just acknowling your mistakes or faults.

An apology requires intent, action, showing that you have learned from your mistakes, showing the desire to do better.

You cannot just say you're sorry because you want to be forgiven or to have your punishments overturned. If you're going to be pretend at contriteness...

Then show it. Your mouth got you into this mess, why not try shutting it and see where that gets you.
