To whom it may concern:
Stop being bureaucrats. Stop making excuses.
Do not grief Riahn, and if it is only by ignoring him, by blocking him from a meaningful, interactive future by putting -what I really feel- surprising obstacles in his way.
I am (for instance) shocked that Non-Cyrenian members of the Knights have been telling Riahn on these very boards to seek clearance by the Cyrenian Knights before there could be any further discussions on his future.
He is not Cyrenian, and has not been for a longer while.
Why ask him to get Cyrenian clearance before he could be considered worthy?
I beg you, plead with you: Be more curious? Rely on your own energy, your personal impression?
Reach out?
I do understand that unity can be frickle business, especially in a multi-citystate movement.
(That said: I am aware that I do not carry the honours to call myself a Knight, or to be affiliated with you. I am aware that I would - for many reasons, for instance poor combat abilities - never qualify.
I always cherished the Knights, ever since I met my brother Sir Roncli, met Sir Iskla, Sir Lereas, Sir Draekar, Sir Alban, and so many others in Shallam, and was, thus, so in support of all of you that brought the Knight movement back to present. Cherished, yes. You are amazing people. Not sure whether me stating such matters at all, but I will do so, anyways. )
I hope I have always acted honourable.
To whomever might be unsure about Riahn, whether you are affilitated with the Knights, or not - and especially when it comes to allowing him in your orgs or generally interacting with him in a meaningful way: I would encourage you to get to know him, personally. Do not rely to what others tell you. Do not rely on Cyrenese, or historical happens in Cyrene.
Many of us will admit that Cyrene is a new Cyrene, and that the transfer period was one of many emotions, coming with joy and pain, alike.
Many mortals still miss old Cyrene. The place founded for people who seeked refuge from the ordinary wars happening within Sapience.
Many people left Cyrene since the change, deeply concerned and disheartened. New people joined, truly enjoying new Cyrene.
Cyrene has been striving, the flooded Sapience being one of the many proofs for this.
A complex matter, and I wish everyone involved the very best, and that all your goals dreams (whatever they might be) may come true.
Independent of your personal goals and dreams:
Riahn is a person these realms should cherish, this is my clear view. He never took the easy way. He never simply followed the flow (and he could have, just as some others did).
He didn't chose frustrated silence.
He spoke up when he felt he needed to, truthful, speaking with a clear heart and mind.
He showed how much he cared, plenty of times.
Whether you personally agree to his views or not: Riahn is a brave person whom I admire a lot.
I -had- the chance to get to know him personally. Will you seek this opportunity?
Riahn is an active mortal. He has an outstanding brain and heart.
It is okay if a number of Cyrenese will not speak in his favour. I understand them. It is part of their lives.
However:
I will. Always.
The realms already lost Kasotus, another great mortal.
Best,
Laras, MD
PS.: I am - of course - available for further enquiries.
