Hail, Sapience.
The thousand-year anniversary of the Seleucarian Empire's fall is almost upon us. This significant milestone invites a reflection on all that has transpired to shape the world as we know it. Yet so much of what was known is lost to time or hidden deep within the depths of mortal minds.
The Asterian Restoration has long pondered this quandary. The second Asterian Festival of History showed us that the world does, indeed, have a thirst for lore and connection with the past - particularly if it can be experienced. As such, we believe the time is right to build upon this progress and further our mission of restoring lost knowledge.
Thus, in collaboration with the Lucretian Athenaeum and any other institutions who may join us, we are pleased to announce our newest endeavour: the Living Chronicles of Achaea.
[ Concept ]
The Living Chronicles are so named for two reasons. Firstly, they represent us. With every memory we retain and every story we tell, so long as we live, we are all individual chroniclers of history.
Secondly, they represent the hope we have for this initiative. We do not intend for this to be a one-off activity for the mere purpose of celebration. We aim for new generations of storytellers to contribute steadily to this endeavour, so that the Living Chronicles can change and grow as a living thing - as the name suggests.
[ Ask ]
We call upon every adventurer and denizen of the realm, regardless of geography or allegiance, to become a part of the Chronicles by sharing a story of a historical event. It can be a subject you studied and are passionate about - such as the Seleucarian histories - or a lived experience you cannot forget, such as the war on Memory, the Conclave Reckoning, the Trials of Haskor and so on.
We will collect these stories and collate them into a commemorative tome, which will be placed in as many libraries around the world that will accept it. Furthermore, stellar submissions should expect to perform their submissions for the public at a location of relevance to the story - after which the retelling will be recorded there for time immemorial. How this will transpire will be revealed later.
The criteria for submissions will be outlined in the next post.
[ Deadline ]
We will accept entries from now till the
= 1st of Sarapin, 1001 AF =
Depending on how many submissions we receive and approve, we will then proceed with scheduling the performances of the selected stories throughout the next few years as schedules permit. If you inform myself early, I may allow flexibility in submission times.
This sort of collaboration is unprecedented. Thus, I wish to emphasise the singularly unique opportunity here for storytellers - not just for you to make a lasting mark on the world, but also to thrust the story or event that you feel most strongly about into public prominence instead of languishing in mindvaults and books and newsposts.
Additionally, all who are interested in providing a submission will be offered temporary membership in the Asterian Restoration (HELP ASTERIAN), for ease of collaboration as well as a recognition of your support for historical pursuits. Upon completion of your submission, your membership will be granted the option of permanence for your efforts.
The guidelines shall follow. All questions on this initiative may be directed to myself.
